Steve is a session bass player who has worked with many well-known and not so well known artists and bands He started Playing guitar at 14 and went onto bass at 19. In the early days he was working the pubs. Playing his own music, which was mainly rock, he was influenced by bands like Rush and Iron Maidden. As he got older he turned towards jazz and was influenced by people like Stanley Clark, Herby Flowers and Jaco. Even a bit of Mark King Playing all these styles made him a more versatile musician and during the 90s he played in top clubs and venues in London backing all types of artists.

Even though he had regular work as a backing musician he still needed to do his own things so he took up the offer to work with a Goth band called Nosferatu and became known as Stefan Diablo, with them he recorded several cd's and a dvd which also involved working with rat scabies of the Dammed.

In 1998 Steve joined Bad Manners and spent several years touring and recording with them He has recently been working with The Beat, Pato Banton and Dawn Penn.
